Yr7 football - County Cup
The Year 7 Football team yesterday booked their place in the County Cup Final with a hard fought 2 – 0 victory over Forest School, Horsham.
The excitement amongst the year 7’s had been building since their Quarter Final victory over a devastated Imberhorne School, Forest School, Horsham proved a much tougher opponent.

They were a very strong and well organised side with a number of very talented footballers. It was a great match worthy of a semi-final and both sets of lads were a credit to their respective schools.
CHS began the game with high energy and exciting football, we dominated possession whilst Forest were always dangerous on the counter attack. It was a game of few chances until the breakthrough on 20 minutes. Jack Hinshelwood surged into the penalty area and was brought down for a penalty. He dusted himself down and duly dispatched the penalty low into the corner. The game stayed very tight throughout and our persistence and patience paid off with a second very well worked goal scored by Kieran Jones who finished calmly into the top corner. CHS managed to hold on for the last 10 minutes and some resilient defending and heroic goalkeeping from Dylan Murray ensured a clean sheet and place in the final.
It was great to see the boys work so well as a team and represent the school with such determination and perfect conduct. It was also very nice to see so many of our 6th Form Academy turn up to watch and support our Year 7s.
Mr Murphy and I are very proud of the lads and look forward to the final.
Many congratulations to the following boys; Dylan Murray, Ollie Barry, Toby Hughes,
