Ms Yasmin Maskatiya - Executive Principal

Yasmin maskatiyaI am a qualified English teacher, gaining my first degree at Leeds University many years ago! It was at Leeds that I also qualified with my PGCE. Over the past 30 years I have taught at a range of schools in Essex and Sussex. Over that time I have been fortunate enough to gain the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH), an MA in Education and I am a National Leader for Education (NLE).

This year marks my sixteenth year as a headteacher with experience in three secondary schools.  I am very proud currently to be Executive Principal of Chichester High School. I have a wider strategic role within our academy trust (TKAT) which gives me further opportunity to learn from others schools’ practice.  It has been a real satisfaction achieving an Outstanding OfSTED rating for CHSG last year and I look forward to the High School achieving the same in the not too distant future.

Mr Nick Brown - Head of School

Nick brownI qualified as a teacher of Biology and Science at Leeds University in 1997 having graduated with a 2.1 the previous year.           

This year marks my sixteenth year as a Teacher experiencing a number of roles, both pastorally and curriculum based. 

As an ex-student of Chichester High Schools for Boys, I am proud to be Head of School at the Chichester High Schools. It is my mission to make the new school the very best for all students in the locality.

Mrs Jo McKeown - Head of School

Jo mckeownI feel very privileged to be Head of School and working at the High School at this very exciting time. I hold a BA (Hons) in Philosophy and the Study of Religions and have enjoyed several senior roles at Chichester High Schools over the past 11 years.

Prior to working in Chichester I worked at as a Head of Department in a Portsmouth School, after gaining my QTS and working at a High School in Dorset.

I am currently leading on KS4 and working closely with our Year 11 students so that each individual achieves their best and ensure that they leave a positive legacy.

All our students deserve the very best experience at School, both inside and outside the classroom and we are dedicated to providing that here at the Chichester High School. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible throughout the Year at our many different events.

Mr Andy Davies - Vice Principal

Andy daviesI am a qualified Design and Technology teacher, gaining my degree at Brighton University. It was at Brighton that I also qualified with my PGCE. Over the last 23 years I have taught at five comprehensive schools and for the last ten years worked as an Assistant Headteacher. During that time, I gained my National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

I was recently promoted to Vice Principal and have been directly responsible for Teaching and Learning, Continuing Professional Development and Performance Management since joining Chichester High School for Girls in 2012.  I am also Head of Year 10.

I am passionate about teaching and learning and very proud to work in a school with such dedicated, hard-working teachers. Our Outstanding Ofsted status is testimony to their commitment to ensure that every student reaches their true potential. Chichester High School is an exciting and innovative school to work at and I look forward to the next stage in our journey. There is a great sense of collaboration and comradery at all levels and the teachers and the students have an amazingly strong working relationship.

Mrs Naomi Lewry - Vice Principal

Naomi lewryI am a qualified teacher with an upper second class honours degree in English. I am passionate about reading and thoroughly enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for books and Literature with all my students. I have been teaching for many years and have taught in a number of schools across the county.

I joined CHSB in January 2009 and, after four years as Head of the English Department, I was very proud to secure the position of Vice Principal last year. In my current role, I am responsible for behaviour in school, the pastoral system and Literacy across the school . I also work closely with subject leaders to ensure all of our students make excellent progress in their lessons. In my role as Vice Principal, I am very much looking forward to the new and exciting challenges.

Mrs Julie Silcock - Vice Principal

Julie silcockI have enjoyed teaching History at Chichester High School for over twenty years and working with many talented and committed staff and pupils. I have a BA (Hons) in History from Bangor University, UCNW and completed my PGCE in 1992 at the West Sussex Institute for Higher Education.  I have been Head of Department both in History and the Humanities Faculty for 12 years. In recent years, I have also been a Governor at the school.

As a Vice Principal, I have responsibility for the KS3 curriculum and assessment, this also incorporates transition from primary schools and careers. I also have the pleasure of overseeing and supporting Year 8 pupils in particular.

I am excited about the future for Chichester High School and I am delighted to play a part in its evolving history at the heart of Chichester’s education.

Ms Vickie Smith - Vice Principal

Vickie smithI started teaching at Chichester High School for Girls in September 2008 as the Head of Drama. In 2015 I was promoted to Vice Principal with responsibility as Head of CHS Sixth Form.  I am also responsible for line managing Drama, Media Studies, Music and Performing Arts; being a Drama Teacher, it is satisfying to be able to see these departments progressing further.

I studied Drama Secondary Education for 4 years at UWIC, Cardiff and left with a second class degree. Having taught in a mixed school for 5 years, before beginning at CHSG, I am excited to be part of the new High School and look forward to the journey ahead.

Mrs Andrea Sweeney - Business Manager

Andrea sweeneyI gained my B.Ed degree at the West Sussex Institute of Higher Education (now the University of Chichester) and worked in the Treasurer’s Department of West Sussex County Council and a private accountancy practice in Bognor Regis until I had my two sons.  When my youngest son started school, in 1991, I began working at Chichester High School for Girls in the finance department and then became Bursar/ Secretary/Clerk to the Governors at Cornfield School in Littlehampton.  Three years later I returned to Chichester High School for Girls as Bursar and gained the Certificate in School Business Management.  I became Business Manager in 2006 and a member of the Senior Leadership Team.  In April this year, I became Business Manager across the two schools which has been challenging but extremely enjoyable. 

As one of the longest-serving members of Girls’ School staff I have seen lots of changes over the years but none as exciting as the creation of our new school for September 2016.

My two sons have now reached their 30s.  The eldest is a Metropolitan Police Officer, the younger a Utilities Surveyor.  Both play rugby so you will often find my husband and I on a touchline somewhere in the South of England on a Saturday afternoon.

Mr Terry Waller - Vice Principal

Terry wallerI am a qualified Mathematics teacher, gaining my BSc (Hons) Mathematical Science degree at City University in London.

I joined a Chartered Accountancy firm in central London for three years then completed my PGCE at Chichester University in 1993.

I have taught in several schools across Hampshire and West Sussex, working at different Leadership levels.

In my role as Vice Principal at Chichester High School, I am responsible for Assessment and Reporting with a particular oversight of KS4 and Year 11.

I feel proud to be part of a fantastic team who will ensure your child has a wonderful experience at secondary school.

Mr Assheton Woodall - Vice Principal

Assheton woodallI am a qualified Maths teacher, gaining my PGCE at Portsmouth University in 1999.  Over the past 16 years, I have taught in three schools in and around the Portsmouth area. 

During my career, my posts of responsibility have ranged from being a Numeracy coordinator in my first school to working alongside other Heads of Maths in an advisory capacity before joining Chichester High School for Girls in 2009.  In 2015 I gained my National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPSQL) and became a Vice Principal for the new Chichester High School.

My current roles and responsibilities lie in the area of curriculum planning and ensuring the school curriculum meets the needs of our students; this also means I have the unenviable job of constructing the timetable for the school!  I am also responsible for year 10, work experience.  Alongside these areas of responsibility, I manage and oversee the IT provision of software and systems to ensure they are fit for purpose.
